Shan Shan and Helen Mok are sisters, both passionate in jewellery object art and design. They both graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) degree majoring in Jewellery and Object Design from The University of Sydney, Sydney College of the Arts. The upcoming exhibition at 504 Gallery will showcase their most recent artworks: ‘Shan Shan 6th series’ and Helen Mok’s ‘Secret Garden series’. Their works are all handmade in sterling silver and mix media jewellery
Shan Shan and Helen Mok have won numerous accolades and were finalists in several national and international art/design award since 2006. These include 2013 Sydney Region Winner — Accessories Category– RAWards 2013 Australia RAWartists.org.
Australia. 2013 highly recommended in Opal Jewellery Awards, IJAA, Australia; 2010 winner of ‘Profile 2010’ Emerging Artist category, JMGA, Australia; 2010 and 2009, awarded the Zelda Stedman Young Student Scholarship from The University of Sydney and also both awarded first place in the Art-Environment/People category; 2010 and 2008 winner of University of Sydney Union Photography, Art, Literature and Music (PALM) Awards; Bronze Prize – Ring. Buyers’ Favorite Jewelry Design Competition 2009, HKJMA, Hong Kong.
